Hemil García is a freelance writer and has been a martial arts practitioner since 1999. In 2003 he interviewed the legendary MMA fighter Royce Gracie, the first UFC champion. Hemil has an understanding of TKD, Karate, Jujitsu, Muay Thai, and Taijutsu. He currently studies Shorin-Ken Karate, but he also explores other disciplines such as Taijusu and is studying martial arts weapons, specifically American Nunchaku Style. He recently won first Place at the King George 2014 Ishin Ryu Karate performing with Nunchakus and finished third place performing Katas.
He also attends to martial arts seminars, CQB, knife disarming seminars. He is very concerned about the importance of self-defense since any American can be a potential victim of an assault, robbery, or kidnapping. An assault can happen at home, at your office, or even in an elevator. The question is: Are you prepared?
Hemil García is also works full time as a Spanish teacher at a prestigious university in Northern Virginia and lives in Fairfax County with his wife Kathya and his daughter Miranda.
